No matter what the season, you will find reason to visit the Skylands.

The Skylands region of New Jersey includes the counties of Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren Counties. Two National Historic Parks lie within the region as well as 17 State Parks and Forests. Bordered on the west by the Delaware River and traversed by the Appalachian Trail, Black River, Highlands, the Crossroads of the American Revolution, and what is thought to be the oldest road in the nation – Old Mine Road.

Birdwatchers flock to the Skylands in the spring and fall for bird migration. Many of the county and state parks offer cross country skiing. Experience gardens in full bloom, float down the Delaware River, fish the many lakes, ponds and rivers. The views are spectacular from the Kittatinny Ridge. The Appalachian Trail and the Delaware Water Gap are incredible throughout the year but especially during the fall foliage season.

Escape for a romantic, secluded getaway weekend or take the family camping. The Skylands offers many opportunities. Contact the Skylands Tourism Council or the county tourism offices for more information.
